VOLUNTEERS

The Phoenix Canoe Club is run entirely by volunteers from its coaching staff to its committee.  Volunteers are the backbone of the club and we have completed the “London’s Volunteer Management Health Check” and were awarded the “Certificate in Volunteer Management” through the Greater London Volunteering Network.

We are always seeking volunteer help with a range of activities and currently have the following posts available:

Litterpicking – We run regular litter picks with North West London Cleanup, Thames 21 and Canal & River Trust to help keep the Welsh Harp land and water clear of litter. Volunteers are always welcome to help out

Site Maintenance Volunteer – To maintain, make good and conduct small development projects around the clubhouse building and associated grounds

Coaching / Instructing Staff – We are always looking for new Coaches and Instructors to help with our busy programme of activities. We can assist people who wish to work towards BC Coaching & RYA Instructing qualifications

Fundraising Committee – We have a small sub-committee of volunteers who assist with obtaining funding to build our new headquarters a reality. We are always looking for building professionals and fundraisers to help out on this committee

Steering Group – We are setting up a small Steering Group dedicated to help run the new building project to fruition. This will be a time limited committee which will meet on a regular basis

To offer your help, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Tim Rice – [email protected] or any of the committee members.
